What is Durable Medical Equipment?


Durable medical equipment (DME) is equipment that helps you complete your daily activities. It includes a variety of items, such as walkers, wheelchairs, and oxygen tanks. Simply, DME is:

1) Durable, meaning you can use it multiple times

2) Designed to help a medical condition or injury

3) Meant for use in your home, although you can also use it outside the home

4) Likely to last for three years or more




I am a Medicare or TRICARE recipient. Do you work with these providers?


Yes! If you are a Medicare recipient, we can help you with DME. We are also a provider for TRICARE Prime, Select, Reserve and For Life and Medicaid. Prescriptions from your provider ARE REQUIRED for all DME request. Prescriptions must have the physicians NPI, license number, complete office address, phone and fax number. If prescriptions do not have this required information, it will not be accepted. NOTE: Some items (like incontinence) requires pre-approval from your insurance carrier, physician and Medicaid. We do not request them but will inform you if it is required.




What is the return policy for equipment purchased and where can other policies be found?


Please refer, read and adhere to our return policy and other policies through our link at the bottom of the page. In addition, because of COVID-19, anything that touches the body will not be accepted as a return.




Is AbleMed Supply Licensed by the Georgia Board of Dentistry and Pharmacy? Are you certified by an authorized accreditation company?


Yes we are licensed in the great state of Georgia. We are also accredited by The Compliance Team to provide service to those who are recipients of Medicare.




How do I order products?


We stock many varieties of products and are able to source numerous additional products. However, we may need to special order your product depending on the size, color, or type. Please know we will do our best to give you an accurate estimate of the time it will take to get your product and the related costs. We have access to over 400,000 lines so if it's not on our site, please ask and we will see if we can order it for you.

Once you've identified your needs, please go to the contact tab and fill out the required information (copy and paste info from product area if you like). Please don't forget to add the SKU# or a description of the item. Customers will receive an email with a quote for products requested.




Can I return a bath bench/chair if used?


Sorry, but no. This type of equipment is non-returnable, because of infection control issues.




Do you deliver?


Yes, we deliver many of our products. We will give you an ESTIMATED DATE when the delivery will be made. Delivery rate will be based on mileage.




Can you set-up my equipment upon delivery?


Our delivery team is not able to move furniture or items already in your home. We require that your home is ready and all existing furniture is removed prior to delivery.




Can you dispose of my old/existing bed or chair when you deliver my new equipment?


No. We cannot dispose of any existing furniture or equipment. You will need to dispose of your items on your own.
